Living with Epilepsy Scholarship

Eligibility: Senior; Legal resident of the United States; Enrolled in a secondary institution for the 2022 semester; 3.0 GPA; You have been diagnosed or your family member, friend, or other individual you are close to has been diagnosed with epilepsy or another seizure disorder.

Patient Advocate Foundation Scholarship for Survivors

Deadline: March 1    Amount: $3,000

Eligibility: Diagnosed with cancer or a chronic illness within the last 5 yrs, be pursuing an associate’s degree or higher
Criteria: Essay, acceptance letter from university, letters of recommendation, transcript, income form, diagnosis verification form

Lyme Disease Scholarship

Eligibility: Senior, have chronic Lyme disease
Criteria: 500-1000 word essay, transcript

Lawrence Madeiros Scholarship

One Step at a Time Scholarship

Deadline: September 30    Award: $1,000

Eligibility: Senior, legal US resident, enrolled in a two to five-year post-secondary institution for the Spring 2022 semester, employees of Benji Personal Injury and their immediate families are not eligible, minimum 3.0 GPA 
Criteria: 750-1,000 word essay response to the prompt: Recovery cannot happen overnight. It takes time, dedication, and patience. Write about a time when you had to work to pull yourself through a difficult situation; professional resumé; transcript; proof of acceptance to your college/university

Students With a Heart Foundation

Deadline: October 1 (opens in July)   Award: $500 – $6,000

Eligibility: graduated senior (must be entering college this calendar year), suffer from any Cardiac disease or deformities, 3.0 GPA
Criteria: College acceptance letter, high school transcript, US Citizen or permanent resident,, letter from a licensed physician, letter of recommendation, 500-2000 word essay

Military Affiliation

The Heroes’ Legacy Scholarships

Deadline: February 17    Amount: varies

Eligibility: children under the age of 23 of active-duty personnel, reserve/guard, or retired military members (sophomore, junior, senior); planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate program; minimum 3.0 GPA; and meets one of the following criteria:

  • One of the parents died while serving on active duty on or after 9/11/2001 in any branch of the US Armed Forces;
  • One of the parents, while serving on active duty on or after 9/11/2001, became disabled
  • One of the parents received a permanent and total compensation rating of 100% from the Department of Defense or Department of Veterans Affairs.

Scholarships for Military Children

Eligibility: possess a valid US Uniformed Services Identification & Privilege Card and parent(s) are serving (or have served) in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, or Coast Guard; planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate program, minimum 3.0 GPA

Honor a Hero Scholarship

Eligibility: Senior, US legal resident, at least 3.0 GPA, planning to join the military
Criteria: Resume; transcript; 750 – 1000 word essay response to the prompt:  why you decided to join the military, who helped you get to where you are now, and what motivates you.
