Alpine School District held its annual Classified Hiring Fair, showcasing a wide variety of opportunities to work for the district. The fair provided an opportunity for candidates to make a first impression, ask questions, and learn about the diverse positions available.

Steve Timmel, ASD Human Resources Director, said that direct interaction allowed candidates to meet the hiring managers, fostering a direct connection that could encourage them to apply and provide them with a contact person.

Available positions include school office staff, custodian, and bus driver, facilities and maintenance, and nutrition services workers. There are a variety of para-educator roles available as well: Special Education Transition Specialist, Math Tutor, and Title I Teaching Assistant.

"Special Education jobs are critical for us to be successful when school starts," said Steve Timmel, Alpine Director of Human Resources. "And we always need bus drivers."

Victoria Zacala, a recent graduate from CVHS in Eagle Mountain, attended the fair after her mom told her about it. She decided to "give it a shot" and was impressed by the effort put into the registration process. She felt like the staff was encouraging and that she was getting her questions answered, which was helpful for her job search.

two people learn about jobs at the fair"Candidates get to meet the actual people who are doing the hiring and that first connection can make a big difference in the hiring process," said Timmel.

For those who were unable to attend the fair, all open positions are posted on the district website every Wednesday. Candidates can apply online: https://www.applitrack.com/alpineschools/onlineapp/
