TEST READINESS

Registering for the ACT

If you are interested in taking or re-taking the ACT, you need to sign up at act.org.
1.  Click on the blue “Register for the ACT” button.
2.  Click on the “Create a MyACT account” button.
a.  If you have ONLY taken the free ACT test at Westlake:

Click on “I registered or tested before” and follow the instructions. (You will be asked for your personal information including your ACT ID number. This number can be found on the score report mailed from ACT).

If you have any questions about how to find your ACT ID number please contact the Counseling Office.

b.  If you have NEVER taken the ACT before:

Click on “I’m new! Let’s get started.” and follow the instructions.

Shmoop

Every high school student in Utah now has free, unlimited, and secure access to Shmoop’s ACT test prep.
  • When clicking the link be sure to be signed into your school Gmail account and to turn off any cookie/pop-up blockers.
  • AFTER clicking the link one time and authenticating your account all users can then access Shmoop by going directly to schools.shmoop.com and clicking the sign in with Google button.

AP Testing

AP courses give students the chance to tackle college-level work while still in high school. Through taking AP Exams, students can earn college credit and placement.

ASVAB

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, is a multiple-choice test that helps you identify skills and interests, explore jobs, and develop after high school plans.

SAT

The SAT is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States. Most colleges accept either the SAT or the ACT test.
